Freeze branded, tagged, encrusted with mud and hauled over 2000 miles from their native lands in Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado, these wild animals have a persistent beauty that reflects their proud heritage as survivors of abandonment and escape from the Spanish, the US Cavalry, ranchers, miners and Native Americans. Today as they compete for grazing land with cattle they face helicopter round ups and are herded into pens and transport trucks for 'relocation' on the east coast.
